Listed Buildings

Making alterations and building extensions on to Listed Buildings feels that extra bit more onerous.

Historic England sets out the criteria for a listed building and states

" Listed buildings can be enjoyed and used like any other building. Listing does not prevent all changes or freeze a building in time; it simply means that listed building consent must be applied for in order to make any changes to that building which might affect its character as a building of special interest. "

You may require some reports by specialists and approval of materials before you can go ahead with the work but it is all perfectly doable and will more than likely be of great benefit to the building.
